Titans Place 7th at Pac-10  Wrestling Championships

Feb. 27, 2011

Corvallis, OR - Cal State Fullerton's streak of sending at least one competitor to the NCAA Wrestling Championships has ended at 26 years after the Titans placed seventh and failed to qualify anyone at the Pac-10 Championships Sunday at Oregon State.

Boise State won the team championship with 147 points. Second was Oregon State at 137.5 followed by Arizona State (117), Stanford (114), Cal State Bakersfield (97), Cal Poly (96.5) and Fullerton (61.5).

Todd Noel was the most successful Titan, placing third at 184 pounds. He won one match in the 184-pound championship bracket (5-2 over Troy Goodban of Bakersfield) and two in the wrestlebacks (5-4 over Dan Scherer of Stanford and 8-3 over Goodban). But only conference champion Jake Meredith of ASU qualified for the NCAA. No other Titan finished better than fifth place.
