Ten Titans Place in Wrestling Tourney

San Francisco, Calif. - Ten Cal State Fullerton wrestlers placed led by tournament champions Andre Gonzalez (125), Marcus Orona (133) and Kurt Klimek (Hvy) Saturday at the San Francisco State Open.
The other seven place winners were: 133 - Gabe Brown, fourth; 141 - Peter Hoang, second; and Bobby Morales, third; 149 - Nick Jordan, third; 174 - Mark Savalle, third); 184 - Todd Noel, second; and 197 - Kyle Bergstedt, third.
Gonzalez beat Jason Moorhouse of Menlo College, 6-2, in the 125 finals. Orona scored a 13-5 major decision over Shawn Jones of Boise State in the 133-pound title match and Klimek blanked Lenard Romero of Menlo, 5-0, in the heavyweight final.
Fullerton's Bergstedt won the Haddad Award for most pins (3, in a combined 7:02).
Fullerton's next competition is a Pac-10 dual meet at Oregon State on Feb. 13 that wraps up the regular season.
